General booking conditions 2021

  • Car reservations: Bookings can be made for trips to and from the intermediate harbours.
  • Vehicles/passengers must be ready to embark at least 5/10/15 minutes before the time of departure, for details see respective timetables. Vehicles arriving later than this will lose their reservation and the prepaid ticket will not be refunded.
  • Check-in is made before embarking the ferry or directly after departure. The drivers stay in the vehicle until ticket- and passengercheck is done.
  • The customer is responsible for booking the right height and length of the vehicle: Åland Provincial Government is not liable to refund a prepaid ticket due to incorrect information given about height and length. 
  • The customer is responsible to obtain a valid ticket: Have cash, vouchers or bank card available for payment when embarking the ferry so that the ferry can leave on time. Valid season ticket must be attaced to the lower left corner of the windscreen. Driver with a personal season ticket shall present the current season ticket.
  • Discount: Prepaid tickets booked online are given a discount of –20%/–80% (except Föglö line).
  • Regular-priced ferry tickets are sold by the ferry staff.
  • Passengers travel for free.
  • Timetables for ice season: In case of traffic delays caused by severe ice conditions a special timetable for ice season is applied. Acknowledgements about introducing ice season’s timetables will be published in local newspapers and on Ålandstrafiken’s website www.alandstrafiken.ax, 7 days in advance. 
  • Government of Åland cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies that may occur in the timetable, and the Åland Government reserves the right to make alterations. 
  • In case of hard weather conditions, technical problems or other Force Majeure similar circumstances, timetables may be changed and tours may be cancelled. Ambulance transportation always takes precedence over the regular timetable.
