General conditions for amendment/cancellation 2020

  • Amendments/cancellations for vehicle reservations are made online or to Ålandstrafiken´s office during office hours if not other notified. Cancellations made outside Ålandstafiken´s office hours must be done online.
  • Rebooking of departure to another departure on the same day is allowed 2 h before booked departure at the latest to Ålandstrafiken (office hours) without additional cancellation fee.
  • A vehicle that arrives later than 5/10/15 minutes before the time of departure (see the timetable) loses its reservation without receiving a refund for the prepaid ticket.
  • The ferry staff do not amend/cancel the customer´s vehicle even if they give green light to embark a different departure than the reserved departure.
  • Vehicles with Green, Green/Yellow season ticket or vehicles without season ticket cancel/amend their reservation 24 h at the latest before departure during high season (15/6-9/8 2020). For other periods reservation shall be cancelled/amended 12 h before departure. Vehicle reservations that are cancelled/amended later than 24 h/12 h before departure will be invoiced 20 euro fee (this does not apply for moped, bike or bicycle trailer).
  • Vehicles with Red, Red/Yellow season ticket cancel/amend their reservation 24 h at the latest before departure during high season (15/6-9/8 2020). For other periods reservation shall be cancelled/amended 3 h before departure. Vehicle reservations that are cancelled/amended later than 24 h/3 h before departure will be invoiced 20 euro fee (this does not apply for moped, bike or bicycle trailer).
  • Companies that have stated Vårdö, Brändö, Kumlinge, Sottunga, Föglö or Kökar as their home municipality cancel/amend their reservation 12 h at the latest before departure during high season (15/6-9/8 2020). For other periods reservation shall be cancelled/amended 6 h before departure. Vehicle reservations that are cancelled/amended later than 12 h/6 h before departure will be invoiced 200% of archipelago fare.  
  • Other companies cancel/amend their reservation 24 h at the latest before departure. Vehicle reservations that are cancelled/amended later than 24 h before departure will be invoiced 200% of archipelago fare. 
  • No-show means that the customer has not cancelled their vehicle at all and the customer will be invoiced 40 euro fee. This applies even when the customer chooses a different departure than the booked. Booked place must be used or cancelled for the benefit of other travelers. 
  • Ordered departure time that is not used will be charged 80 euro. Cancellation time is the same as the last time the departure can be ordered/booked. See timetable for each ferry for rules and how to order. 
  • If customer considers that there is an acceptable reason why fee for late cancellation should not be invoiced, the customer shall notify Ålandstrafiken when cancelling the reservation or the following office day. If the reason is acceptable, the customer shall submit verification within one week to why they could not cancel the trip within time. Customer who have not canceled their reservation can not afterwards present “acceptable reason”.
  • Refunded ticket fee for vehicles without a season ticket: Reservations cancelled 24 h/12 h at the latest before departure are refunded, except a handling fee of 5 euro. To obtain a refund the obligatory customer information has to be completed with a bank account number (IBAN and BIC) and personal identity number.
